fuck phone anxiety. fuck it in the eye. got my manager telling me last week that if she, who is "much older and weaker" than I (her exact words), can spend five minutes a day calling our congresscritters, then I can do it too. thing is she hasn't got phone anxiety!
fuck a few other brainweasels, too. like the "do it right or don't do it" one. emailing my congresscritters isn't "doing it right" because calling is more effective, and therefore.
This is really scary. Also scary: did Cheeto seriously sign an executive order saying for every regulation added two must be revoked?

I go to church with a State Rep and I checked with him previously. Emails are easily deleted. Snail mail not so easily deleted - phone calls, however, tie up people's time. That gets noticed.
(And yes, I have scheduled time at 11:30 to call both State and National and at 12:15 to throw up.)

I am vaguely comforted to know somebody has worse phone anxiety than me. :(

Right. Off to the sick room now.

When I am posting calls to action, it's very much Do what you can, and you know better than I do what you can manage. I am angry at people who make fun of protest, or try to tell us we don't need to, and yes, at ones who will tell you you're doing it wrong because you're not doing it the way they are. Not at people who recognize their human limitations.

Yeah. It's just, it's me telling me I'm doing it wrong, and I'm getting better at recognizing the difference between my brainweasels and my own thoughts but that doesn't actually shut the brainweasels up.

If it's too hard for you, there's thing going around Tumblr about people volunteering to call for people who can't make calls for disability reasons (including phone anxiety when it's this bad)? Like, "I'm calling on behalf of NAME from STATE who can't use the phone. They want POLITICIAN to know that..." etc. I don't know how you'd find someone who does that, but I know it's a Thing.

My past manager never did understand why I had issues with the phone. :/

Fun, ain't it?
To be fair, I don't show phone anxiety at work much. (Idk.) But still.

I never use the phone in my personal life, with the exception of talking to my mother and brother.
