Share a book/song/movie/tv show/fanwork/etc that changed your life.
Harry Potter, no contest.
In other news, one of the folks I met through Harry Potter fandom is starting a socially conscious speculative fiction publishing company. First book off the presses is to be Speculative Masculinities, an anthology exploring and deconstructing and reconstructing assorted definitions and varietals of 'masculinity' through speculative fiction.
Create your own challenge. Whatever your challenge is, and have fun with it!
Make a fanwork in a new-to-you artistic medium.
Write a love letter to Fandom in general, to a particular fandom, to a trope, a relationship, a character, or to your flist/circle/followers. Share your love and squee as loud as you want to.
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
That artists dream and paint, that poets write:
From Undersea to orbit stars ablaze
With light that won't for years reach Terra's gaze;
To Middle-earth and Narnia—rewrite
To bring each social justice point to light—
New York and two-lane blacktop fill my days.
I learned to write from you—how to create
Breathtaking settings, most intriguing plots,
And characterization to elate—
How to reach for help when tied in knots—
What to discard and what to emulate
Of others'—fandom, how you've shaped my thoughts!
