For Short Story 1 to earn an A, it will:
Category Qualities
Length Be more than 500 words and less than 2000 words.
Creative Engagement Show evidence of authentic creative engagement with the characters, conflicts, and the story’s shape.
Process Show evidence of a writing process that includes at least three steps: approaching, drafting, and revising.
Showing verses Telling -“Show” where showing benefits the story.
-“Tell” where telling benefits the story.
-Use significant, concrete details where appropriate.
Direct Characterization -Bring at least one character to life using at least three of the following four strategies:
-Dialogue
-Appearance
-Action
-Thought
Reader Engagement Make the reader care about the characters and their story by creating tension and high stakes.

So I am not as done as I thought I was. Because there is not a word of dialogue or description in the story. Bah. BAH.
