New desktop does not have a spot the right shape to plug monitor cord into. I know this because the monitor cord was the last thing I needed to plug in to the new desktop in order to turn the damn thing on and get going with the bits of setup that require the desktop to be on.

Adapter gizmo estimated arrival: Wednesday.

I still have my laptop, tablet, and phone. But I may be scarce for a bit. (Especially on Slack because laptop is cranky about running more than one of Firefox, Chrome, and Slack at the same time and last I looked Kindle Fire does not have a Slack app.)
