*makes frowny face at money program* I can't justify buying more jewelry supplies right now. I have so many ideas that can't be done with the supplies I've got but I need to make about five hundred dollars more sales before I can justify buying, for example, beading wire and crimping beads to make necklaces with. Or polymer clay and an Easy-Bake a toaster oven a clay oven to make and fire clay beads and pendants with.

I made over a hundred dollars last month and I'm closing in on three hundred this month, so five hundred dollars isn't out of reach. It's just not coming fast enough.

Know what else is out of reach due to lack of funds? Big craft fairs. There's one in May got advertised in the local weekly paper this week, and to get a booth there, I'd need to cough up money for a business license ($40 for ten days, $75 for a year, wtf state government) and for a booth ($95 if I paid before April), so I'd need to sell like twenty pairs of earrings at the fair to break even and like thirty to justify going, which I can't count on. The twice-weekly bazaar is probably inaccessible for the same reason, though I haven't checked, because it's outdoors and it's January and like fuck am I spending all day outside when it's colder than the third circle of hell. And the soonest small craft fair anybody in the house knows of is "in the spring". Useful information, that.

Also, while of course nobody's obligated to comment on my fic, and I know there's not a hell of a lot in any one fic to comment on, nobody's commented on any of my Bechdel Project fic in ages, and I'm disappointed.

I am sorry about the lack of commenting. SPN is not a fandom I know past the first half season other than THROUGH fandom.

And UGH. I remember setting up our flea market shop, getting supplies, getting licensed, etc...and then trying to justify the place's existence beyond 'it makes my partner happy'. I hope you have luck though.

I'm sorry about the lack of commenting too - I read every one as soon as it's up and I really like them/the project but I'm sometimes worried about writing a "good"/thoughtful comment so I don't. (I really appreciate the 'kudos' button AO3 implemented lately)

Do you have any farmers' markets around you? I'm not sure how much they cost for booths but at least the ones around me have moved indoors (places like Y's, senior centers) for the season and tend to have space for local artists/craftspeople. (soap, knitting, jewelry, etc.) My guess would be that would be cheaper than a specifically-craft-fair because they're less popular in the winter.

Good luck~

My sympathies on the commenting. :( I hope things pick up for you.

I am impressed by your productivity, seriously. You've turned out a lot. Can I ask about how much business you get on Etsy? I'm looking into selling in a totally different area, but I still have no idea what to expect.

I hope your Etsy sales pick up! It seems to be something of an art, selling there.
