Mary, actually. I think Dean would swim to Hawaii rather than fly there.

I still seek justification for this season six flying adventure they went on. HOW DID DEAN DO IT?!

I guess, though, once you have been to hell and dealt with soulless Sam, your phobias might take a hit in seriousness. Still, as a pretty phobic person myself in some ways, it doesn’t matter very much how scary OTHER things are, phobias are still phobias.

I bet Sam played the "You can come with me or I can go by myself" card, playing up the puppy eyes, like he did in Phantom Traveler. Alternate theory, Dean spent plenty of time in hell dangling over an endless drop, and a flight might be just as terrifying but now he knows he can make it through anything as long as he knows it's going to end, or, better, when it's going to end.
