Thing it's just occurred to me to wonder: lobster-claw clasps vs other kinds of clasps. Are there accessibility issues? Like, are there people who can handle bar-and-toggle clasps or S-clasps with ease but not lobster-claw clasps?

Lobster claws are a PITA for me, accessibilitywise. Not true for everyone of course, but. Yeah.

Are lobster claws the ones you have to depress a lever to make the clasp open? I HATES THEM. I just don't have enough fingernails.

Yeah, many people have issues with them. (While other people need them, because necklaces leap off their necks if not firmly secured. *raises hand*)

We use S-clasps by default, or bar-and-toggle if the S clasp would look funny, but we also have magnetic clasps and lobster clasps and spring-ring clasps and bunches of others, in case people need or want them restrung.

*nod* That might work! We, honestly, do just re-string on new beading wire if need be, though.

Lobster claws are a pain in the tail when my hands hurt, but they can't be beat for security of necklaces not falling off.

Unfortunately, things that do rival them for security are even harder to operate (safety chains, and the like.) =/

I like toggle clasps, because they're very nearly as secure and much easier to operate, for me. But that's just me.
